Baby Bump Shots - First Trimester

On Sunday December 16th I had to make a trip to the ER for some fluids. Turns out I caught the stomach flu that had been going around. Since I was there the MD wanted to do a sono just to make sure everything was good with the baby. Of course I was thrilled (even though I was feeling horrible) because I had not seen the baby since 7 weeks 2 days. I knew that this time he/she was going to actually look like a lil' baby.
The sonographer was very sweet and let my mom and I take some illegal pics with my cell phone. Another fun surprise was she was able to tell the gender of the baby!
We are having a BOY!!!!!
Since Kris wasn't in the room during the soon I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to surprise him on Christmas. The sonographer wrote on the sono for us so I could print it out and give it to Kris as a gift.
He just loved it!!!!!!!

Last week Kris and I thought it would be fun to take the Intelligender test. The test is supposed to predict the gender of your baby.
If the color stays yellow/orange its a girl and if it turns dark green/smoky its a boy.

So based on this picture it looks like we might be having a BOY!
Of course the accuracy isn't 100% so we will have to wait and see at our appointment in January to know for sure.
I can't wait to find out because I am SO READY to buy some cute baby things.

We also went to our second OB appointment on 11/29. This appointment was really fast! Just a quick listen to the baby and of course the DREADED weigh in.
My doctor said everything looked great and the baby heart rate was 162! I just love hearing the heart beat, Kris and I both left the appointment smiling ear to ear.

First OB Appointment - October 24, 2012

I was so excited/anxious about this appointment. I could not wait to see the little one that was making me feel so sick lately.
I just love my OBGYN, I have been her patient for 10 years now and am so excited that she will deliver our first little one.
Side Note - The practice I go to has several physicians 2 of them have delivered 4 of my 6 siblings so it just feels right for me to be in there care.

Sono Pic!!!!!!!
Below you can see the little baby on the right in-between the 2 dots. Measuring 1.15 cm- which makes me 7 weeks 2 days.
We even got to hear the heartbeat which I was not expecting. Let me tell you that hearing that sound is by far the coolest thing you will ever hear (until you hear your baby cry for the first time of course)

I have never considered myself a writer or had any ambition to blog until recently. Whats changed, you ask?????
Well Kris and I are embarking on a whole new journey in life..... parenthood! I figured this would be a great way to share our successes, failures, and everything in between with our family and friends.

I guess the best place to start is the day we found out we were having a baby.

October 1st- Was a very long day for us. We got up very early to go be with my Dad at the hospital during a procedure. Both Kris and I had to work that night so we decided to try to sneak in an afternoon nap before our long night shifts.....little did I know that there would be no sleeping.
When we got home I decided that I needed to take a test. I just had a feeling that something was up. I was more tired than normal and things were not tasting the same.
Well.... turns out there was a reason for that.
BAM! positive.
Even though i had a feeling I might be expecting NOTHING prepares you for when you see the positive results. Both Kris and I kept going back into the bathroom and looking to see if it was still positive! (Of course it was) Needless to say we were beyond excited and therefore were not able to sleep AT ALL.
